Evil Exposed & God Glorified

Psalm 36: This is quite the contrast, why would God be glorified in that evil is shown for what it is? This week we asked how are we to live out a hatred for sin, and spacifically what we should do when we encounter it in the workplace or anywhere else.
Ryan also talked about how David speaks of the attributes of God in this Psalm. The contrast between the wickeness of men and the glory or God is worth considering. Why is God's glory so important to us, and how does considering it help us to deal with sin?
What are your thoughts or questions?

  1. As a believer, I believe God's glory is important to us because in His word he gives it as a command in 1Corinthians 10:31- to glorify God in all you do. And since we fall short of that, I think it urges us to pray for God's glory and to ask ourselves, am I glorifying God?

  2. Hello everyone. My wife and I were going over the sermon and Psalm 36 tonight after dinner, and I found it interesting how the Psalmist does not stop at verse 9. He exalts God for who He is (vv. 5-6), then delights in God's character (vv. 7-9), and then prays that God would act in accordance with who He is. That is hitting at the heart of true prayer, praying for the will of the Lord, His activity as a result of who He is to be done in our lives. God delights to hear these prayers and loves to answer them as well.
